About the project
This 2006–2011 Toyota Yaris Sedan received a complete lighting makeover using premium Spyder Auto projector headlights and LED tail lights. The goal was to modernize the vehicle’s appearance while significantly improving nighttime visibility and creating an OEM+ look that stands out both day and night.
The customer wanted a clean, factory-quality installation with automatic Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), brighter headlights, and matching LED rear lighting. Every component was selected to enhance both style and functionality without compromising reliability.
What we did
We installed a complete set of Spyder Auto LED DRL Black Housing Projector Headlights, featuring crystal sapphire LED halo rings, black housings, and clear polycarbonate lenses. The headlights are designed as a direct replacement for the factory units, providing a clean fit while giving the front end a much more aggressive and modern appearance.
To make the DRLs function like a true factory system, we performed custom wiring using an automotive relay. Instead of only operating with the headlights switched on, the halo ring DRLs automatically illuminate whenever the ignition key is turned to the ON position. This means the vehicle has fully automatic daytime running lights regardless of whether the headlights are being used.
For improved nighttime performance, we upgraded the low beams with an HID conversion kit for increased brightness and beam output, while the factory high beams were replaced with high-output LED bulbs for quicker response and improved visibility.
To complete the transformation, we installed a set of Spyder Auto LED Black Tail Lights, providing a modern LED rear lighting design while maintaining direct plug-and-play compatibility with the vehicle’s factory wiring.
Every connection was professionally wired, secured, and tested to ensure reliable operation and long-term durability.
The result
The finished Yaris now has a completely refreshed appearance from front to rear. The black housing projector headlights and LED halo DRLs give the vehicle a premium, modern look, while the HID low beams and LED high beams dramatically improve nighttime visibility compared to the original factory lighting.
The custom ignition-controlled DRL system provides true automatic daytime running lights, adding both convenience and safety by ensuring the halo rings illuminate whenever the vehicle is running.
At the rear, the Spyder LED tail lights perfectly complement the front-end upgrade, creating a cohesive lighting package that looks clean, modern, and factory-installed.
The end result is a practical lighting upgrade that not only enhances the vehicle’s style but also delivers improved visibility, better road presence, and a more enjoyable driving experience both day and night.
